Trinity River Audubon Center Real Wedding | Haley & Andrew | June 5, 2021

On a stunning June evening, Haley and Andrew committed their lives to one another in front of friends and family alike, cementing their bond, at the Trinity River Audubon Center. Their hopes for “clean aesthetics to match the modern architecture of the building” were achieved by choosing “neutral and earthy tones to evoke a calmer and cozier feel”.

We are thrilled to share more about Haley and Andrew’s special day from the bride and groom themselves!

From Haley on Meeting Andrew:

“Andrew and I met the summer of 2014; we were both home from college and worked together at Lifetime Fitness as camp counselors. We grew up in the same hometown, Rochester Michigan, but didn’t know each other until working together! We went to different colleges, so we were pretty hesitant to start dating right before going back to school. Our schools were only about an hour and a half from one another, so we’d see each other as often as we could. Once we graduated college, we moved to Dallas and the rest is history!”

From Andrew on Getting Ready at TRAC:

“Aside from the tequila shots being passed around and music blasting on the speakers, I was weirdly calm and Zen, yet filled with thoughts of ‘it’s really happening...the day is finally here.’  I had an overwhelming sense of feeling grateful- knowing I was moments away from marrying my best friend, seeing my closest friends and family, and being able to do it all in the way we had always envisioned.”

“The Audubon center appealed to us in many ways. It was the perfect combination of what we felt had the best of everything we were looking for in a venue.

1.    Its proximity to downtown Dallas.

2.    A private natural environment that really resonates with our love for the outdoors.

3.    An architecturally beautiful building inside and out.

All these aspects create a juxtaposition that feels as unique as our relationship.”

“Toward the end of or ceremony, our officiant invited everyone to stand and partake in pronouncing ‘Andrew you may now kiss your beautiful bride!’- We loved this part of the ceremony as it got all our guests to be involved in an easy, fun and memorable way.”

“We both agree our favorite moment from our wedding day was seeing one another for the first time. We decided to wait until our ceremony to see each other and felt it made our wedding day that much more special.  Another favorite memory for us was our last dance. So much of the night was spent with friends and family, together, which we loved! But being able to end our night together, alone, felt like it gave the night a formal ending in a very special way.”

“We were one of the first couples in our friend groups to get married, so many couples said we set the bar very high, and our wedding was going to be hard to top! Friends also added, our wedding was the most fun wedding they had been to, of course we are biased. “

“All our vendors were awesome and super easy to work with, however what was extra special was the way all our vendors worked together as a team to help make our day run smoothly. With the level of communication and comradery amongst them, you’d think they were a part of the same company.”

“Wedding food can always seem to be just subpar, not ours! So many of our guests complimented the menu selection and the delicious tasting food! If it’s in your budget, do yourself and guests a favor and provide late night snacks, these were a hit! Beverages were flowing all evening long and somehow bartenders were able to keep up with our crowd!”

“You know that one song that gets everyone in your friend group ‘going’ at a party...that was a remix of Wonderwall for us. It was unexpectedly played at the peak of the night and every second of it was glorious.”

“I can’t remember the last time I saw a dance floor this hyped up! You both have the best friends and family.” -BSR Wedding Films

Looking back, what words would you use to describe your big day?

“Only one word needed, MAGICAL!”

Do you have any advice for future couples?

“It’s cliché for a reason, but really, don’t stress and try to be present by enjoying every moment of your most special day.”

Haley on going from a Boxwood Hospitality bride to a Boxwood Hospitality employee:

“In the initial stages of planning our wedding I had little expectations when it came to what a venue would offer. Shortly after booking I realized Boxwood offered a plethora of tools to ease the planning process.

Not only were the services exceptional, all the employees, from start to end, were amazing. From our initial conversations with Boxwood, they were as transparent as possible, about pricing and what they offered. Our day of coordinator, Carly, was so accommodating to my endless questions. She created a timeline, floor plan for our day, and executed it seamlessly. Boxwood exceeded our expectations.

After having such an amazing experience with Boxwood, from time to time I thought I would love to be part of such a wonderful group of people. When the job positing hit, I quickly applied. I loved walking in my first day and seeing familiar faces, staff we worked with throughout our wedding process. Boxwood welcomed me with open arms as a bride and now as an employee!”

Haley and Andrew, thank you so much for sharing your wedding day with us at the Trinity River Audubon Center! We wish you nothing but the best in the years to come!
